Brookside Breeders Show 2009
Preparations for the 2009 BLBSS are in top gear as the show is scheduled for June 10th to the 12th. The show as in previous years will be held at Nairobi’s ASK Jamhuri Show - grounds where both local and foreign stakeholders are expected to attend.
Highlights
BDL presented its cheque sponsorship of Kenya Shillings 13 million to the Assistant Minister of Livestock at his at Kilimo House offices to mark the beginning of the shows activities. More cheques are being received from various companies who want to be a part of this big event through purchase of exhibit space.
The key activities in this year’s show will include:
- Judging of livestock by both local and international judges.
- Seminars
- Official opening
- Grand parade of all livestock on display
- Auction of the country’s finest Boran bulls and Fatstock
- Demonstrations
- Trade Presentations
The show that in the past has attracted over 15,000 farmers and stakeholders is bound to attract an even larger crowd this year, with the focus of the show being on AI.
