We are committed to conserving our environment. With the launch of the 'Greening Campaign', Brookside Dairy set aside over 50 acre of prime land for the purpose of tree planting.
The exercise was kick started by staff members and members of the nearby Wanyumugeke Farm. Since then every member of staff plants a tree to commemorate every year of service a Brookside Dairy.
The large variety of trees range from podo, cedar, neem, casuarina, nandi flame, warbuga ugandensis and fig trees. The trees planted in reused packaging and watered using recycled waste water from the dairy as part of our 3 R strategey.
With the 'Green' fire started, it was only inevitable that the fire would spred, and spread it has. Other satellite stations have responded to the beckon call and have similar projects.
Taking the campaign a notch higher
The program has been expanded to include visitor the plant. Dignitaries and other visitors are encouraged to plant trees. Students visiting under the education program are no exception.
Brookside Dairy now dedicates 50 acres every year to the program and has established a tree nursery to ensure a sustainable supply of seedlings.
