The Milk Procurement and Extension Services department is the nerve center of Brookside Dairy Limited. It is charged with the enomous task of collectig milk from over 7,000 farmer in our network scarttered Kenya and Tanzania where we have fully fledged operations.

Milk collection is carried out right from farm level where extension officers have developed collection routes. This ensures that all farmers, including the small scale farmers, are able to deliver their milk on time.

This eases the burden on the farmers, some of whom are otherwise forced to travel long distances in the wee of the night t deliver milk.The routes have also enabled collections twice a day boosting the volumes and maximising returns for the farmers.

"Only the best goes in" and the MPE workers are cahrges with resposibility of ensuring that milk collected from the field is tested for hygine, consistency and quality, any milk that does not not meet our stringent standards is rejected at the point of collectio. This makes the extension workers the first link in our quality management chain.

The department is also responsible for offering and coordinating extension services to farmers within the network. This includes among other things, providing AI services, providing animal feeds, identifying areas of need and structuring dairy training courses around these topics, assisting farmer procure financing for their ventures and helping farmers prepare for the Brookside Livestock Breeders Show and Sale.
